Follow these steps to prepare at work. Bookmark or print this page for future reference.
1. Reprogram your equipment and services at work to include the new area code:
• All speed dialing lists on all your outgoing lines (including extensions, cellular or mobile and fax machines)
• Computer modems
• Call Forwarding (including Ultra Forward, Select Forward)
• Voice Mail or Messaging Systems (including Answer Call, Voice Mail Service, Pager Notification, Special Delivery, Mini Message Boards, Premium Message Boards, T-Mail Group Lists)
• Call Block
• Priority Call
• Special Delivery Service on Answer Call
• Security or alarm systems
2. Check with your service providers to make sure that the following equipment can handle any new area codes, including:
• ISDN equipment
• PBX systems
• Burglar alarms
• Electronic key systems
3. Give your new area code to all the people you deal with, including:
• Employees
• Customers and business associates
• Local affiliates
• Suppliers
• Relatives and friends
4. Make sure your new area code appears in all advertising, including:
• Newspaper and magazine ads
• TV and radio ads
• Verizon Yellow Pages advertising
• Non-Verizon telephone directories
• Classified ads
• Signage
• Internet sites
• Recorded messages
• Menus
• Promotional Items (including mugs, keychains, t-shirts, caps, etc.)
• Uniforms and other employee clothing
• Company vehicles
5. Include your new area code on anything you print, including:
• Checks
• Stationery
• Business cards
• Invoices
• Purchase orders
• Menus and placemats
• Brochures/catalogs/promotional materials
• Internal records
• Company directories
• Labels
